Catherine Pettit, MSW

Supervisee in Social Work

Catherine Pettit, MSW, is a Supervisee in Social Work in our Bethesda and Georgetown offices. Originally born in Connecticut and a graduate of The Ethel Walker School, she attended George Mason University for her undergraduate degree and earned her Bachelor of Social Work and minor of Criminology, Law and Society. Upon graduation, she worked for a non-profit in Northern Virginia serving homeless families and survivors of domestic and interpersonal violence. During this time, Catherine returned to school and earned her Master of Social Work degree from Capella University. 

Catherine has experience working with children (age 3+) and adolescents, as well as college students as she worked at George Mason University’s Student Support and Advocacy Center. Catherine’s areas of clinical focus are anxiety, mood disorders, grief, trauma, and relationships. Her therapeutic modalities include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, art therapy, play therapy, and systems-based approaches. 

Catherine loves animals and hopes to one day train a therapy dog of her own.
