A Bit About Me
I’m Molly Dana (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I strive to build trusting relationships throughout treatment by using strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to facilitate growth, self-love, and confidence in a safe and welcoming space for clients of all ages.
Before joining the team at Georgetown Psychology, I was a third-grade teacher and worked in the non-profit sector, helping children impacted by incarceration. I also worked at a sibling-focused therapeutic foster care program, providing case management, individual and family therapy, and provided mental health support to children in an under-resourced school.
I offer trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming care that includes psychoeducation, empowering clients to better understand how their brain functions and why therapy can be a valuable part of their healing journey. My clinical modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Child Centered Play Therapy. As a clinician trained in EMDR, I am particularly passionate about providing evidence-based trauma treatment for children, teens, and adults. I am also a lifelong advocate for rescue dogs, and hope to expand my practice to include a therapy dog to assist clients in the future.
I also work with my canine niece, Ada. Ada is certified as a therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. She loves helping clients engage in deeper levels of therapy and feel more comfortable in the office. Ada is not present for every session, so if you are interested in having her join you in therapy, please mention this when scheduling your intake appointment.
