ADHD & Executive Function Coaching

The struggle IS real.

At Georgetown Psychology, we understand the complexities of today’s demanding world for kids and adults. That’s why we’ve developed our ADHD & Executive Function (EF) Coaching program as an exclusive service for our testing and therapy clients. Our program provides an additional layer of support that compliments goals developed in therapy and through our testing process. Like all our services, our coaching program values and affirms neurodivergent identities like ADHD and Autism while identifying and targeting areas needing support.

Whether you’re an ADHDer struggling with procrastination, a high school athlete balancing academics and sports, a college student juggling multiple courses and a social life, or a neurodivergent parent trying to support your kids while struggling yourself, EF coaching can help.

What is Executive Functioning?

Executive functioning describes the cognitive processes that allow people to create a plan, solve problems, make decisions, and manage everyday life. These skills help to regulate behavior and emotions, stay focused on tasks, and adapt to new or changing situations. Essentially, executive functions are the “management system” of the brain.

Our Approach

Who Can Benefit From EF Coaching?

While EF coaching is often associated with ADHD and other neurodivergent identities, it can help anyone who needs a bit more support managing everyday life.

Students

Students of all ages can need help developing executive function skills. Our coaches help younger kids develop the foundational skills that set them up for future success and support older students needing help with organization, planning, starting and finishing tasks, time management, and study habits.

Young Adults

Our work with young adults extends to college students working to manage course loads and competing demands for their attention, as well as those transitioning to more independent roles. EF coaching can help students at risk of dropping out of college and students on medical leave transitioning back to school.

Parents

Neurodivergence runs in families, and many of our students have parents who also struggle with executive functioning. We are passionate about working with parents on their own management system while giving them tools to support their child.

Adults

Our coaches can help adults who feel burdened by multiple life demands and want to achieve less stress and more balance in their daily lives. With the right support and strategies, you can overcome obstacles, develop new habits, and achieve your goals.
