A Bit About Me

I’m Keeleigh Mahler, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience evaluating and treating children, adolescents, adults, and families facing challenges related to anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, and other emotionally related concerns. My work is rooted in evidence-based approaches, including ERP, EMDR, CBT, ACT, IFS, and SPACE protocols, to guide clients and their families toward meaningful and lasting progress.

A cornerstone of my practice is embracing an individualized, holistic, and relational approach to care. I firmly believe that on the other side of fear lies an opportunity for growth—a chance to understand, accept, and integrate the many facets of who we are. This philosophy guides my work, creating a space where clients feel supported as they navigate their unique paths toward healing and greater alignment with their authentic selves. By fostering curiosity and compassion, I aim to help individuals transform challenges into meaningful steps forward.

In addition to direct care, collaboration with parents, schools, and other providers is a key part of my work, helping students overcome challenges with anxiety, perfectionism, ADHD, and executive functioning struggles so they are empowered to thrive both academically and emotionally.

My Education & Training

I earned my Master of Social Work with a clinical focus from Michigan State University. During my graduate studies, I was a research assistant with the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute, contributing to projects focused on employee retention, secondary trauma, racial equity, and Indian child welfare. The majority of my post-graduate experience has been providing direct care to adolescents, young adults, and families in a residential and intensive outpatient program setting. I am deeply committed to ongoing growth, reflected in my certifications in EMDR and yoga instruction and specialized training in SPACE and trauma-informed care. I have created comprehensive curricula for onboarding staff training, developed group-focused curricula for adolescents and young adults, crafted individualized academic and transitional plans, and hosted webinars for parents and educators to foster collaboration and shared understanding. I was honored to present at the Autism Symposium on The Path to Resiliency is Through Change, sharing insights on fostering growth and adaptability. Additionally, I appeared as a guest on the Becoming a Fearless Clinician podcast, where I discussed the parallel process between therapist and client and how to develop authentic, meaningful connections in clinical practice.

Where I Practice

I am licensed in Virginia and New Hampshire and awaiting approval of licensure in the District of Columbia. I provide services in-person at our Georgetown location and offer telehealth as appropriate.
