A Bit About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience providing therapeutic services to children, adults, and families. I’ve worked in various settings, including school systems, outpatient clinics, day treatment centers, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals.

As a native Washingtonian, I’ve spent the past 25 years working in the DC area. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, an M.Ed in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, and an MSW in Social Work from Hunter College in New York.

My experience includes working at St. Joseph’s School for the Deaf, where I served as a creative arts therapist and supervised the National Dance Institute’s in-school program. After obtaining my social work degree, I worked as a therapist with both the deaf and hearing communities at the Lexington Mental Health Center in Queens, NY. Since returning to Washington, I’ve worked in various settings, including the Psychiatric Institute of Washington and the American Day Treatment Center. For several years, I’ve also led parent-toddler groups at the Adas Israel Synagogue nursery school, focusing on developmental issues and parenting skills.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is both psychodynamic and systems-based. I work with children and families within their context, using various modalities, including individual play, expressive arts therapy, and family therapy, to create therapeutic relationships that best meet their needs.

Where I Practice

I am licensed in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
