A Bit About Me
My name is Dr. Ashley Muskett and I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in providing psychoeducational evaluations, autism identification assessments, and therapy to children and adolescents utilizing a neurodivergent-affirming approach. My areas of specialization include Autism, ADHD, mood, and anxiety disorders. I am passionate about my work with Autistic children, teens, and their families. I have a particular interest in working with non- or partially-speaking Autistic youth, as well as the assessment and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders in both speaking and non-speaking Autistic youth. I view Autism as an identity and disability within the social model of disability. This means that while I celebrate the Autistic identity of my kids and teens, I also recognize that it can be incredibly hard to be neurodivergent in a world where many other people aren’t.
I grew up in Springfield, VA, and I currently live in Falls Church, VA with my husband who is a 5th grade teacher for Falls Church City schools. When I’m not working I enjoy exploring the DC food scene with friends and family, visiting used bookshops to add to my collection of obscure folk and fairytale anthologies, and rewatching my favorite comfort sitcoms.
