A Bit About Me

I’m Maggie Giese (She/Her/Hers), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I provide therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am passionate about working with clients of diverse backgrounds and use strengths-based and individualized approaches that recognize the uniqueness of each client.

Grounded in systems theory, attachment theory, and psychodynamic theory, my approach is built on a deep value of the client-therapist relationship and creating an affirming, supportive and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their true selves, build resilience, and achieve personal growth. I aim to meet clients where they are, helping them recognize the larger context and systems they are part of and identify how those shape their experiences.

Originally from Boulder, Colorado, I come to Georgetown Psychology with over 10 years of client experience in a variety of settings, including education and the legal system. I rely on a variety of clinical modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, alongside trauma-informed and mindfulness-based approaches.
