A Bit About Me

I’m Umniya (Umi) Gabbani (She/Her/Hers), a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My work with children, adolescents, and young adults is built around a foundation of trust and compassion. I am dedicated to offering a supportive and holistic therapeutic approach deeply attuned to cultural sensitivity and helping clients process life experiences to reach their fullest potential.

In my practice, I believe that building connection is essential for meaningful growth and self- empowerment. My goal is to empower my clients to discover their inner strength and help them navigate life’s challenges with resilience and confidence. I recognize the individuality of each client and tailor my therapeutic approach to align with their unique goals and preferences. My practice is rooted in a holistic, client-centered philosophy, where I draw upon various clinical modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), elements of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and play therapy. I address a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges, including anxiety, self-esteem, depression, sports performance, and academic pressures.

I am passionate about supporting young athletes using goal setting, visualization, and stress management techniques to help them achieve peak performance while maintaining a healthy balance on and off the field. My natural ability to connect with children and adolescents allows me to create a safe and supportive environment for them to express themselves openly. I am also dedicated to providing LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent-affirming care, ensuring that clients and their families feel respected and understood in every aspect of their therapy journey.
