A Bit About Me
I’m Dr. Kristina Lee, a psychology associate at Georgetown Psychology who enjoys working with children, adolescents, parents, and young adults. I provide therapy services and conduct psychoeducational and developmental evaluations to assess concerns such as Autism, ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. My approach is rooted in building an authentic connection to see the whole person beyond what their test scores or diagnoses might suggest. Through the evaluation or therapy process, my goal is to understand and appreciate a person’s strengths and needs to capture who they are and how they can find success in the world. I also use my background in school psychology to guide families in navigating school-based supports, including IEP and 504 meetings and academic or behavioral interventions. My work with families is a collaborative process, therefore I am also happy to coordinate with other professionals to facilitate support across different settings.
My approach to therapy is informed by humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives geared towards encouraging self-acceptance and personal growth. I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic alliance to support the safe, nonjudgmental exploration of mental processes. I also integrate my training in various evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My role as a therapist is not only to support clients through facing life’s challenges, but to also expanding their understanding of their past and present selves to determine how they would like to grow.
