Establishing Solid Foundations

Caregiver involvement is an important component of child therapy. Initially, the therapist will meet with the parent(s) for an intake session to learn about the child’s history and develop goals for therapy. After this initial session, the therapist will meet individually with the child and involve the parent(s) as appropriate. There is no “one size fits all” approach for the frequency of caregiver involvement, as the needs of each family require an individualized plan tailored by their therapist. For younger children, biweekly or monthly parent sessions are recommended to help reinforce behavioral strategies and coping skills learned in session. For older children, phone check-ins help facilitate communication between caregiver and therapist.

Online Therapy

Although life as we know it has come to a pause, we understand that your therapy needs continue. We are here for you and are committed to helping throughout this pandemic. As we will only provide the highest quality of treatment possible, we have carefully considered what services can be provided remotely and what is best done in person.

Since the beginning of the stay-at-home orders, we have been providing individual therapy and relationship therapy via our HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. Online Therapy has been well received by our clients and therapists and will continue to be our treatment model for the time being.

We will continue to use remote services when it is effective. When in-person services are needed, we have procedures in place to make our office environment as safe as possible.
