A Bit About Me
I'm Maggie Giese, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I provide therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am passionate about working with clients of diverse backgrounds and utilize strengths-based, individualized approaches that recognize the unique needs of each client.
My therapeutic style is compassionate and collaborative, built on a deep value of the client-therapist relationship and creating an affirming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their true selves, build resilience, and achieve personal growth. Grounded in systems theory and attachment theory, I aim to meet clients where they are while helping them recognize the larger context and systems they are part of and identify how those shape their experiences.
Originally from Boulder, Colorado, I come to Georgetown Psychology with over 10 years of client experience in a variety of settings, including the legal system and education. I rely on a variety of clinical modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed and mindfulness-based approaches.
