A Bit About Me

I’m Molly Dana (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I strive to build trusting relationships throughout treatment by using strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to facilitate growth, self-acceptance, and confidence in a safe and welcoming space for clients of all ages.

Before joining the team at Georgetown Psychology, I was a third-grade teacher and worked in the non-profit sector, helping children impacted by incarceration. I also worked at a sibling-focused therapeutic foster care program, providing case management, individual and family therapy, and provided mental health support to children in an under-resourced school.

I offer trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming care that includes psychoeducation, empowering clients to better understand how their brain functions and why therapy can be a valuable part of their healing journey. My clinical modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Child Centered Play Therapy. As a clinician trained in EMDR, I am particularly passionate about providing evidence-based trauma treatment for children, teens, and adults.

Beyond my work as a therapist, I enjoy educating parents, educators, students, and professionals on trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming care. I have presented parent education seminars on supporting children with ADHD and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), as well as using EMDR to treat anxiety and depression. I also provide professional development trainings for educators on creating supportive classroom environments for students with ADHD and RSD. I often speak with students in school settings about trauma and neurodiversity to promote understanding, self-advocacy, and emotional well-being. Additionally, I have served as a guest speaker for The Haystack, where I discussed the role of EMDR in supporting neurodivergent adults.

One of my great joys is pairing animals with therapy, which has led me to working with my canine niece, Ada. Ada is certified as a therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. She loves helping clients engage in deeper levels of therapy and feel more comfortable in the office. Ada is not present for every session, so if you are interested in having her join you in therapy, please mention this when scheduling your intake appointment.
