Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an evidence-based, short-term intervention designed to support families navigating conflict and behavioral and relationship challenges. FFT operates on the principle that “problem” behaviors serve a function within the family system and lasting change requires understanding and reshaping those relational patterns rather than focusing solely on the individual. Treatment typically unfolds across three phases: first building motivation and reducing negativity within the family, then restructuring communication and behavioral patterns, and finally generalizing those changes to support long-term stability. Our functional family therapists work collaboratively with all family members to reduce blame, improve communication, and build on the unique strengths already present within your family.
