A Bit About Me
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience providing therapeutic services to children, adults, and families. My therapeutic approach is both psychodynamic and systems-based, grounded in the understanding that individuals develop within the context of their relationships and environments. I work with children and families within their broader systems, recognizing how family dynamics, school environments, and other relationships shape emotional development and behavior. Using modalities such as individual play, expressive arts therapy, and family therapy, I create therapeutic relationships that meet each child and family where they are and support meaningful change. Children’s behaviors often communicate emotional experiences that have not yet found words, and therapy helps bring those experiences into a space where they can be understood and processed.
This therapeutic lens also guides my work with adults, exploring how early relationships and family patterns continue to shape emotional responses, coping strategies, and the way we connect with others today. I focus on understanding the meaning behind behaviors and relational patterns rather than simply addressing symptoms.

My Education, Training & Community Involvement
As a native Washingtonian, I’ve spent the past 25 years working in the DC area. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, an M.Ed in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, and an MSW in Social Work from Hunter College in New York.
My experience includes working at St. Joseph’s School for the Deaf, where I served as a creative arts therapist and supervised the National Dance Institute’s in-school program. After obtaining my social work degree, I worked as a therapist with both the deaf and hearing communities at the Lexington Mental Health Center in Queens, NY. Since returning to Washington, I’ve worked in various settings, including the Psychiatric Institute of Washington and the American Day Treatment Center. For several years, I’ve also led parent-toddler groups at the Adas Israel Synagogue nursery school, focusing on developmental issues and parenting skills.
Where I Practice
I am licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
