A Bit About Me

I'm Dr. Kristin Meyering, a licensed clinical psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families, providing psychotherapy and comprehensive psychoeducational and developmental evaluations. My goal across all aspects of my clinical work is to understand the whole person--not just symptoms, test scores, or diagnoses--but the relationships, environments, experiences, and broader systems that shape each person’s development and well-being.

I strive to create a supportive and affirming therapeutic relationship where clients and families feel understood and empowered. My approach to therapy is primarily grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with integration of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I utilize a strengths-based, solution-focused framework to help clients better understand patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior while developing practical skills to navigate life's challenges and promote well-being. When appropriate, I emphasize collaboration and active participation with parents and other caregivers to promote meaningful success across settings.

I have experience assessing individuals across a wide range of ages, communication styles, neurotypes, and clinical presentations, including ADHD, autism, learning differences, intellectual disability, anxiety, depression, and complex emotional and behavioral presentations. My evaluations provide a clear understanding of each individual's strengths and needs, along with practical recommendations that support success across home, school, work, and community settings.

Across all aspects of my practice, I draw on my expertise in school psychology to help clients and families navigate educational systems, including special education evaluations, independent school admissions testing, IEP and 504 processes, school-based interventions, and the transition to higher education.
