A Bit About Me
I’m Dr. Xinwei Dong, a licensed clinical psychologist who works across the lifespan with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide both psychotherapy and comprehensive psychological evaluations, supporting individuals as they better understand themselves and navigate experiences related to ADHD, autism, anxiety, mood concerns, personality patterns, identity exploration, and women’s mental health.
In my assessment work, I take a strengths-based approach to highlight each person’s unique abilities while also clarifying areas of challenge, helping to guide thoughtful, individualized recommendations. In therapy, I prioritize building a strong, collaborative relationship where clients feel understood and supported in deepening self-awareness and creating meaningful, sustainable change.
My clinical approach is integrative. I draw from psychodynamic theory to explore the underlying “why” behind patterns and experiences, while incorporating evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to offer practical tools for growth. This balance allows me to support both insight and actionable change. With children and adolescents, this includes developmentally tailored approaches that support emotional expression, regulation, and confidence, while helping them better understand their own minds and experiences.
I enjoy supporting parents as they navigate the complexities of raising children at different developmental stages. I work collaboratively with parents to better understand their child’s needs while also making space for their own experiences, helping them strengthen connection, build practical strategies, and feel more grounded and supported. My goal is to create a space where parents feel understood, not judged, and more confident in both their parenting and themselves.
I work with women at all stages of life, supporting the unique experiences that can arise during pregnancy, postpartum, and across life transitions.
Outside of my work, I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and watching movies.
